Grace Poem by Dozie Wogu

Grace

I had been out there with the sun
Losing the faith and hope
Taking a fantasy filled with sin
Taking the world I thought I could cope

I struggled to maintain this world
But failed with much pride
Tried to balance this world
But failed to weigh my role

I forgot to do my prayers
Leaning on cares and woes
I remained adamant to that love
Sitting still without standing to my woes

I forgot my Redeemer and Savior
I forgot my Lord and Savior
I forgot He died for me
I forgot what He did for me

In my helpless state without hope
I felt a tap on my back
In my state of indignation
Someone beckoned on me to come back

I looked behind and saw Him
The One and only Redeemer
Offering me grace with hymns
My Savior and redeemer

He took my hand and led me
Into an ecstasy of peace and love
Not minding the sins by me
He offered me a free gift

The gift of salvation
The free gift to save
The gift He gave when He died
Grace was that gift
Thank You Lord Jesus, for Your wonderful grace
