Gracious Exit Poem by Joscephine Gomez

Words don't come easily on the mouth of one
whose heart saw joy soon gone
who knew that this joy had come
just to leave when her mission's done.

The situation wasn't ideal,
their love wasn't real
although they were unprepared
for her they truly cared.

She left that after their pain
their freedom they may regain
that they may never sing again
that long and sad refrain.

Her leaving wasn't easy
just like her earthly entry
but she chose to make them happy
not together, but separately.
