Grains Poem by Doris Dzameshie

Grains

Oh grains of sand, sand of our sea shore
Sand that moulded my grandfathers.
Moulded them to be rich and strong
Moulded them to be pure and true
We are grateful

Oh grains of sand, sand of our sea shore
Sand that moulded my grandmothers.
Moulded them to be articulate and dignified.
Moulded them to be caring and strict
We are grateful

Oh grains of sand, sand of our sea shore
You who moulded my children
Moulded them to be vibrant and obedient
Mould them to know that they are but grains of sand.
We are grateful.
