Grains Of Sand Poem by Sergio D'Amico

Grains Of Sand

On Sandy Shores, He Sketched our Soul
Washed by Sea as time rolls,
Prismed thoughts in a coloured Sky
Left us searching and asking why.

We were exiled into this land,
imprisoned beneath grains of sand,
At night thoughts came forth on tides,
by day, they slowly faded away.

What is wrong and what is right?
the secret lies somewhere within our minds,
buried beneath grains of sand,
exiled forever from our native land.

We were born and thus shall die
but our thoughts shall sail through the oceans of time.
We gaze into our hands
and all we see are a few grains of sand.

Our eyes fill the eternal cup
with tears of a thousand laughs
We sit on this foreign land
and sketch the soul of another friend.
