Grammar Like A Meat Stew? Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Grammar Like A Meat Stew?

Rating: 1.5

Toss the participles in the pot, chef!
Throw in a an active verb or two
throbbing with bloody life

Those curds of blabber
should add almost nothing
but should confound all

Poetry is built arbitrarily
on convention and rules
observed by apprentice

and master alike! Say what
you will - grammar provides
a necessary foundation

to infuse with that raw slippery
wriggling life that the poet
transmutes to poetry!
