Grand Champions Poem by Marilyn Lott

Grand Champions

They were all grand champions really
For their effort has made them so
Cattle all brushed and strutting
Looking so good wherever they go

Why you even see a sweet Llama
They sure stand out in a crowd
And look at the smiling owner
You just know she is terribly proud

Every kind of animal you can imagine
Gets polished and ready for show
Owners of all ages are excited
To have their precious friends in tow

And while we are at these events
Might just as well get a bite of food
Oh, so delicious the smell is
And the taste is so terribly good

It’s a day that is filled to the brim
Of animals that truly strut their stuff
And I’ll bet next year we’ll see them again
For ribbons they can never have enough!
