Grant Us Oh! Lord Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Grant Us Oh! Lord

vanished is the appetite
yet grown are the crops
vanished is the thirst
yet flown are the rivers
vanished is the desires
yet sweat out all the people
vanished is the greed
yet surplus in every field
vanished is the hatred
harmony reigns all around
such is the land grant us Oh! Lord
where all the minds think of peace
never in the hearts dissent sprouts!
