Gratitude Salutes Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Gratitude Salutes

Gratitude, salutes the grateful
Love, vast masses and few
Not few despise life's hateful
My friend, what about you?

Does God, deserve appreciation?
Author of Heaven and earth
Few alone from every nation
Thank Him for giving birth

From beginning and throughout life
Until the day they die
Wander shameful, lost blind with strife
Most shake, clenched fists on high

God's real, with true love vivacious
Considerate extreme
Righteous, absolute gracious
Almighty, God! is supreme

Why would lost sinful souls wander
Why can't the foolish see
However near, far yonder
Freedom's with guarantee

Such is the beauty of Jesus
Compassion of The Christ
Selflessly choosing to please us
Our Father sacrificed.....

Is not The Lord God everywhere
Is Christ, not close at hand
Is Jesus not willing to share
Salvation in every land

With answers of yes and amen
When true repentant pray
Who've sinned again and again
Grace washes shame away.....
