Greed Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Greed

Boasting hearts all around
Bipolar beats pounding suffrage
Mistakes made in prides icy grasp
Freezing frenzy
Controlled by the mass illusion of regret

Decisions, Decisions
Ah, what a mental mess
The hearts of denial
Tells minds to think blindly
So the obvious pain can never be seen
Or even heard from
It's all about playing make pretend

With shame I grimace
Sitting back watching everything unfold
Each movie sadder each time
The actors of denial
Walking on with celebration
Upon their own scars buried
Deep down within their own personal walk of shame

They once bragged and boasted
Had their heads up high upon the sky
Even thought they were gods amongst mortals
So powerful they would even made life itself
Oblige by submission
Via each wink given by the black magic of their eyes

Skin warriors of vanity's praising
Laden down by envious misery
Burdens to only themselves
Burnt by the passion they all faked away

They decided to take greed to another level
Laughed while they treated others like slaves
Losing all concept of reality
Wasted away their own resources
Only to pout and cry
Because they no longer can get their own way

Their resources dried up
Too hot they slowly melt away
Polluted minds stuck
Broken down
In the middle of each road
Those that forever shall lead to nowhere

Poor and broken
Now they know how it feels
Perhaps they can get back up
Dust all the past greed away
And become stronger
Than they have ever been before

They deserve another chance
To give out love to whom all they can
For they have learned the struggle
Let us hope they never forget
Where they now have come from

Humble hearts beating all around
Creating non fictional movies of earnest achieving
Building up those who may be down
Teaching them how hope exists
If they always keep believing
In their own selves and others
The acceptance of love as a whole

Wouldn't it be great if everything truly ended up this way?
Life's lessons learned
By the design of reality
The true form of an unconditional love
Wouldn't it just be great?

Pipe dreams they may be
But I will keep smoking them up
Till I see the change of all change
Reality's light shining
Amongst the heavens of pure hearted intentions
If only greed landed itself into a golden epiphany
Building everything back up
All before it becomes too late

Don't they realize?
The future is not something that they should waste

I may be the captain of obvious
But why was this not obvious to them in the first place?

Greed, It is the biggest threat of them all!
