Green Flag Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Green Flag

Rating: 4.5

Green Flag

Times and times I have stood watching
Water-drop evaporate in the heated pan
It is amazing
The drops move as do victims of hunts
Regardless of the tools
(Arrows, guns, chemicals or water cannons)

The small drop bubbles
Shatters to prisms
And on and on
Hard death

I felt the same when the knife moved against James Foley's neck
I had the same feeling when our colleague came from the front; tear in his eyes:
'We gathered their hands and feet like gathering marbles from the beach; put them in bags.'
He talked of the Iraqi attack on Iran
I felt the same when WEST was deaf to the Kurdish families being gassed by Saddam; till...
Yes, I felt the same when my brother died of the same poisonous gas and the world cared less.

I wonder who else watches the drops evaporate in the pans and the pots...

It is hard

I wish I was deaf, dumb, and blind;
Maybe being dead is better than being a part of this civilization.

I remember when Turkey, Iran and Pakistan were united by WEST to make a green Islamic fend against the Godless Soviets...
Now I observe the same inflated Muslims, from Yemen to Saudi and... being damned as are toilet papers after use...

I wish I was deaf, dumb, and blind;
Maybe being dead is better than being a part of this civilization.

Congratulations water drops
Congratulations dear brother
Wait for me...
