Green Me, Please Poem by Brandi Stone

Green Me, Please

Sometimes you find yourself swimming in a sea
polluted with the memory of a beautiful thing.
It's unseen effects capturing you
unaware of it's toxic sting.
You don't know what it is
but you enjoy it,
you don't know it's creator
but you'll destroy it.
It starts as pure
then it's rounds from there,
never can you see it but it's in the air.
Like the sun shining upon your shoe,
the wind and how it caresses you.
You don't know what it is
but you just bought it,
you don't know of it's strength
but have already fought it.
sometimes the invisible is barely there
but sometimes it's the strongest pain you must bear.
Sometimes you find yourself swimming in a sea
polluted with the memory of a beautiful thing.
