Grey Sands White Sands Or Black Beach Sands Poem by Terence George Craddock

Grey Sands White Sands Or Black Beach Sands

Rating: 5.0

the tantalizing lull in the tide
rocks beguiles like a lullaby
deceptive calm of still waters

salt of the womb or salt of sea
grey sands or white black sands
waves ripple waves roll in to shore

light glitters on water wave motions
light glitters on wave washed mica sands
silicate sheets stolen from tidal rocks

silicate sheets flakes sail in home oceans
silicate sheets flakes journey in sea waves
silicate sheets flakes treasure trove sands

the tantalizing lull in windswept tide
mica glitters in in wave light kissed sands
in summer sun is sown golden memories

in the tantalizing lull in the tide
peace is wave rocked into souls
walking in warm mica wave wombs

Written in October 2014 and December 2016 on the 17.10.2014 & 25.12.2016.
The mica which sparkles in the grey sands of Carter's Beach and the North Beach, and many beaches around Westport New Zealand, my hometown, can be found in mica sheets in the rock in not far away; about 25 minutes or less drive away along the Charleston coastline and Nile River mouth. The sea sweeps the sand along the entire length of the West Coast of the South Island, and I was down at the North Beach with my two daughters earlier this hot windy summer Christmas Day. Yes in New Zealand December is Summer not the Northern Hemisphere Winter and we are a day ahead of some parts of the world, our today is ever your tomorrow.
