Growing Older Poem by Kyle Schlicher

Growing Older

Rating: 4.0

reflexes slowing.

eyes yellowing
squinting
in bright sunlight
struggling
with
the written word.

muscles
aching
sagging
in love with gravity.

unintended
silence
surrounding
occupied
space.

memory fading
into
the
distant
river
swiftly
running
away
from
me.

each day
is
further
poisoned
by
the
passage
of
time.
