Growing To Perfection (To Lucy) Poem by Neil Godden

Growing To Perfection (To Lucy)

Rating: 5.0

(Inspired by my daughter when she was 6 years old - a while ago)

Everything you say and do: -
A glimpse into the heart of you,
That knows all things and nothing at all,
Yet still rises beyond where we others may fall.

Tender you are, both tender and true: -
A celebration, a life in bloom,
A purer song and a melody new,
That fills my heart with its` sweeter tune.

Alone and content to be by yourself,
No requests unreal, at your ease with life`s wealth,
While behind brown eyes lives a mind quite aware
And a heart beats inside, with it`s own view of fair.

With a life strong and true and a love pure as gold,
And a soul of the best; one all life must behold
And take with it forever until time is done,
There was never one fairer born under the Sun.
And the path that you take and the way that you go,
Will both strengthen and comfort your life as you grow.

For the questions unanswerable I can only but tell,
All the problems you face were my struggles as well,
And the joy that you have and the joy you have shown,
Will forever stay with you when childhood`s outgrown,
And you look to past ages for help and direction,
When at last, growing still, you have grown to perfection.

In my previous comment, I had mistaken which I confess. After all it is a provoking poem with good wishes. I pray the Almighty for perfection to Lucky. May God bless her with all perfection.
