Growing Up Poem by Shaina Lloyd

Growing Up

I still remember
when I was so small
You would just sit and watch me
playing with my favorite ball
You'd watch me play
and helped me when I fell on my knees
and then as I grew a little older
you taught me my A, B, C's
Later you taught me to ride a bike
and started to teach me right from wrong
and we would talk and talk
all day long
I grew up even more
and started to find out things about dad
like drinking and pot
and all the fights you guys had
Dad always made life hard for us
and all the time I'd see a tear in your eye
I'll never think he'll understand
all the pain he caused you for you to cry
which leaves me to now
where we never talk or do anything we used too
and I am really sorry
and always know that I love you
