Growing Up (Ali) Poem by Mike Conkey

Ive met so many differnt people in my life
most many ending in strife
because as people grow old and change
there minds and actions rearrange
never that main guy of my highschool career
but all those people did nothing but dissapear
and its all become so clear
tht ive found my closest friends
the relationships that never ends
though a couple try to pretend
to be people that they are not
because of the ways they were taught
like an animal is taught hide
they arent known to stay by my side
erased out of my life
like an erasear to paper
i forget all the word they wrote in my life
though i know
i have 3 that will never leave
i cant pretend they wont sin like Eve
though i will keep them close in my life
because they havnt ressurected
all the bad memories that i have nearly corrected
but one has entered to me from a distance
and i had nothing not even ressistence
to tell her that we would not be right
little did i know id start a fight
a war i caused between us
pointless like the war our country causes
and the crowds applauses
they love the drama but i do to
so through and through
i cant be a hyprocrite
but from now till then
i know what i could have been
but my life is leading me to the light
one tht seems to bright
but i have to stay blinded
if i want my life to go straight
though i cant seem to wait
because i am still a kid
after ninteen years
i still have some fears
like losing those 3 like water
i have to keep them close
because friends can leave like water goes down a drain
at which point id have gone insane
but as i grow up and learn
i will keep the scars that burn
though these scars you cant simply see
you have to live life to have them be
yet some scars are okay
like the ones that are tattood to your memory
the ones that wont be forgotten
even if u hit rock bottom
they will still be clear as day
whether there good or bad
if your happy or sad
life will bring another day
