Grudge Of The Universe Poem by Nathan Coppedge

Grudge Of The Universe

Rating: 4.5

A box of tissues is soaked through
A pink hand written, unbesmirched
by any deeply blue

The birdlet perched
as though to scatter out its song
No lurching through any all-too solemn throng

I learned to keep my balances just so
and just so that I have the will
to let it go—

No service for the promises that keep
No fateful solace with approaching sheep
No diamond earring for the fair
this is no kerchief shaken from the air—

It is the shape of dreams contesting dreams
bright at morning, then its gone it seems

You lust and hoard for one measure of the peace
then all goes down by sudden snafu.

Re: Charles Monroe, Thank you. Since you say 'lovely' I know you must mean a compliment, although your rap-like lyrics do not seem altogether clear to me. Could you explain the meaning of your rap? It's probably more obvious than I realize...

Lovely. Finally something somewhat relative To my competitive arrogant narrative. Of Judges and Nurses We've grudged Universes In uniform basis, Were filling the spaces. Of Jokers and Aces Remember the faces For faceless creations are Agents in Matrix'- Remind, we, the basics To live without bracelets But only amazements We've found in the basements Of mongoose and Dayton's We've traveled the pavements. And to remain gracious, In midst of New Havens, And Grudges and Nathans, We've titled us, Nameless. P.X
