Grudges Poem by Aparna Chatterjee

Grudges

Life is too short
To bear grudges
They say.

But I wonder…
Why life makes you
Struggle so much
That you have
Grudges.

Wish life was one
Sweet sailing…
With happy memories
And no grudges.

Just the thought process about grudges is already great. I read once the following metaphor: If we squeeze an orange, for sure orange juice comes out. Why, because that is what's in it, nothing else is in an orange No apple juice, no grape juice, just orange juice. If a Saint is 'squeezed', out comes unconditional love Why, because that is what is in him, nothing else No anger, no grudges, no frustration All of us do have unconditional love in our heart, but so many other things as well. If we are squeezed, out comes anger, grudges and frustration. We can change what goes into our heart and become a bit more saintly. Now this is easier said than done.
