Guardian Of The Lake Poem by Shijo Jose

Guardian Of The Lake

Inside my house
There is a lake
A lake of tears
A collection of memories
A river of sorrow
Of what I've done
And things I've failed
Rivers from my eyes
They run so deep
Deep beneath my scars
Through a tattered heart
Down to my lake
Now so long preserved
Things I'll never forget
Chapters from a life
Pieces of my soul
Glorified experiences of death
Drowning in phoenix tears
Putting rains to shame
Death escapes my heart
But it s broken apart
Just lying in pieces
None lending a hand
Its all that I am
A sorry broken soul
Left for the dead
Maggots feast on my soul
Meant to be forgotten
Pitiful existence of hate
Just let me be
Hell calls out to me
So I can't repeat
An y hurt I've caused
Swears of being sorry
Never making a difference
Anger on your lips
Hatred in those eyes
Pulls me down below
With these empty credits
A tattered black heart
Sees you smile away
AS I slowly die
To sink my life
And your phoenix sings
An angel's revival cry
Enchanter feeling shining inside
The dead soul resurrected
Magical touch of tears
I'm woken up again
Regrets washed in smile
A death so sweet
My one last chance
To see more smiles
And hopes live on
To make one life
Generate many smiles
Ones like you do
