Haiku Poem by Lewis Bosworth

Haiku

acorns dropped down
hitting my soda,
squishing baby praying mantis.

handsome boy, steamer trunk, wet by
steamy wake. Grote Beer,
mal de mer.

junior high boys’ room peer,
look don’t touch smaller boy.
he’s still too little.

escher’s cubes make trig hard.
mediaeval boxes of fruit,
towers zero.

baby’s pee-pee bleeped in print
by tea party scaredy-cats.
david’s curls?

mighty fortress high atop
coimbra sings eça ‘s louvor.
diner soaps.

look skyward to rafters up,
hear austin’s stops, stained glass
saints reconciled.

melting crayons on the stove,
putting gum in cloakroom boots.
fourth grade job.

banging soldier’s march on blond
upright, teacher ‘cross street calls.
meter wrong, boy.

saff, butters, bella –tail, purr.
electric trash, two-way poop.
irish fare.

my eyes are on the sparrows,
wild birds unlimited.
tube feeder full.

haiku rocks, seventeen labs.
carnet de croquis – sketchbook.
etch blue belt.

french house wine and cheese
fête de gala irregular verbs
t’en fais pas.
