Haikus At A Moment's Notice Poem by Egbert Simcox

Haikus At A Moment's Notice

Diplomats

Another cocktail.
Dry smiles and banalities
That drinks don't dispel

Workaholic Boss

Ignorant of his illness,
His joy in his malady
Now sickens us all.

My Children

Adults in the world,
At ease with life and themselves
Mine just a moment.

Ex-Wife

Now a bit player,
Stern monther of four princes,
I never knew her.

Winter Burial

Gray river, black trees,
Snow-speckled clods devour her
Icy as my grief.
