Very original, a wonderful rhythm and flow and altogether a very beautiful, sensual poem.

I love the movement of this piece, the rhythm and the fluidity. The repetition is perfect for this (like an echo) . It definitely makes the poem. The last two verses are my favorite, due to outstanding rhythm.
Overall, it reminds me of Romeo and Juliet: 'O, that I were a glove upon her hand that I might touch that cheek! ' which, in my opinion, isn't really a bad thing.
So, I can honestly say, this is the first hairbrush poem I've come across that I truly enjoy. (Report) Reply

Very nice lyrical piece, Jake. Check out Li-Young Lee's 'Braiding.' It comes at it from a different angle, but you might like it. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Pablo Neruda

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
