Haitians Are People Too
Haitians want and need jobs
Like everyone, not the constant jabs
Not the perpetual, non-stopped bad raps
Negative ad and publicity that we get from the Press
We are upset, appalled, disgusted, and hard-pressed
By the usually lethal and bitter coverage
That we’ve seen or witnessed through our passage
In America, Europe, Asia, and everywhere else
Haitians are People too, not something else.
We want and need JOBS
Like everyone else.
We need Peace and Respect
Like everyone else.
Haitians, Africans, West Indians and African Americans
Are People too.
Hispanics, Indians, migrants, and poor Europeans
Are People too.
We want and need JOBS
Like everyone else.
We need Peace and Respect
Like everyone else.
In America, we are all IMMIGRANTS.
America is a nation of refugees and migrants.
What’s your name?
You are from where? What about your parents?
Tell me. Why are you ashamed?
In America, we all came from somewhere
Other than where you’re breathing the air.
Americans are immigrants
We are all immigrants.
Jews, Russians, Asians, and Palestinians
Are People too.
Arabs, Alaskans, Chinese, and Haitians
Are People too.
We want and need JOBS
Like everyone else
We need Peace and Respect
Like everyone else.
