Halcyon Poem by Landrey

Halcyon

-start-
i smoothly waltz up
and suavely sit down
i open my mouth
to say 'i love you'
and what should come out
but 'gloob-phlop-dee-moo'
-? end? -
you thought that was it
you thought i was done
instead her eyes rise
and reach into mine
it starts in those eyes
and spreads to her face
-smile-
inside i'm all knots
forgotten my name
to her no big deal
to her just a kid
more awkward more fun
-fine-
-just-
as long as it's me
