Half A Man Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Half A Man

You can slander my existence
Count the days to my demise
Cast the first and final stones
Or pluck the mote from upon my eyes
You can gather all your evidence
Take away my freedom to live
Sentence me to a life in hell
In hidden dungeons or crowed cells
WHY ME? ?
Because I know not mysef
Because I'm impoverish and unskilled
WHY ME? ?
A stranger in a land not my own
Half a man without a house nor home
Battle scars deeply rooted
Reparations yet to be paid
Erase the sins of those before you
With drugs, imprisonment, and a church to pray
WHY ME? ?
Because I'm blind and timid
Soft and ashame
WHY ME? ?
Because I'm lost and confused
Undisciplined and afraid
A stranger in a land not my own
Half a man without a house or home
