Half Drowned Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Half Drowned

Half drowned

We, mainly in the waves
try to keep head up
too busy with ups-downs
floating, half drowned
see little, and are maimed.

Consider the man who
Went to fight the ISIS
and was killed.

He was of Canada
Now hero, Media’s.

What about true him?
Why to go, why to fight
His knowledge of ISIS?
Their ground, background?

I fly with magic
To nineteen, thirty six
the men of Canada in Europe
fought Fascists.

Were ignored back at home
documents were secret; and hidden
till Michael, CBC

Were others?

Neither you and nor I
see the depths, of secrets

In the waves; half drowned…
