Half-Life Poem by Mitch Señoron

Half-Life

Lost…
In the darkness…
Lost…
In light…
Lost…somewhere…

I opened my eyes…
Nothing is found…
Nothing is seen…
Nothing…nothing…

I spoke…
No one replied…
My voice…faded
Faded…to silence…

I tried to walk a distance…
Step by step…
But I can’t move…
Move an inch…a meter away…

I tried to reach out…
Extending my arms…
But I felt weak…
Weak and sore…

My eyes are tired…
My lips…dried…
My legs…stiffened…
My arms…deadened…

My body…frozen…
Cold…cold…
Weak…and sleepy…

Tired…drowsy…sleepy…somnolent…

But light woke me up!
My hands…my feet…my body…
Moving again…

My eyes gleamed!
As it opened…

I screamed!
I was speaking…

Memories came in my mind!
An accident came…
I was in half-life…
But I survived…

Survived the crash…
