Half Of Me Poem by Bragg Adocio

Half Of Me

Rating: 2.7

hate that I can only give you half of me.
I can only give you the loving friend not the friend in love with you.
I can give you the boy who knows where he stands and never crosses that line not the guy that jumps the line and transcends all aspects of the word 'relAtionship'.
I cAn't give you all of me because the half you already have shows no room for growth.
My hidden, but not so hidden, half hates the friend in me, who will unflinchingly give you advice on how to get even farther away from him, how to find someone else, how to block out the hidden me..... That half of me.
Both halves of me know for whom the caged bird sings. That half of me is so sure he can answer that call, but the friend in me tosses him aside And helps search and weed out maybes
And not-so-sures even with the imminent danger of finding an 'mmm ok' or a 'sure this will work' or the dreaded 'where have you been all my life? '.
The friend in me will gladly do all of this for you, and he will even sit front row at your wedding and drag that me all the way up there with him, help pick the decorations, even hand deliver the invitations! .…
That is the friend in me.
The predominant me, the only one you see while that me you only hear about.
The friend in me will be the first to help you back on your feet when a failed 'project' leaves you down and out, but even he fails you. Because he knows a guy that you obviously get along with, that you can tell Anything to, that you are already practically dating just by both of your behavior around each other, and would never do what previous projects and some may to come might do.
And with all this knowledge, the friend to you, is your enemy,  because he only gives you one half of the two.

Ahhhh… I can relate with this half of me thing… anyways, nice poem! It is sometimes true, we are in love with someone at the wrong place and the wrong time… sometimes the person whom our heart longed is no longer free to love us in-turn. But unconditional love will do if only one can bear… half of you, talks about something which is so true.
