Hallmark Card Poem by Pat CoughlinMawson

Hallmark Card

HALLMARK CARD

I control the drama
And I control my song
I can open up my Hallmark Card
And hear where I belong

But in this world of "other than"
I invite the fear
To see again the lessons
that I didn't learn last year

I invite them in again
And see myself react
I know this is my story
And that I'm not attacked

Then I swing back to the world
Of "Love is all there is"
And feel the Peace, Love and Joy
And linger in the bliss

My life is one big pendulum
Swinging right to left
Learning lessons that I choose
Releasing all the rest

But any time I want to
I can open up my card
And hear the Song of Heaven
And remember who WE are!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
For many years I questioned why I came here and what was I here to learn. I do believe we are all here to learn lessons and to love. This poem reflects those feelings. A dear friend once discribed our perception of heaven as 'Love is all there is' and earth as 'other than'; and that's why I chose to use those phrases.

Bread warm storyline, splendidly delivered, with crisp structural movement that glides like a coin tossed across a freshly glaced icepond! Well Done ~FjR~
