Halloween Munchkins Poem by Marilyn Lott

Halloween Munchkins

Rating: 5.0

They try so very hard you know
To capture what they sought
To be if they could be someone
That they obviously are not.

They think about it for months on end
"I will be a monster, " Sammy said
An ugly mask he perches
Upon his adorable childish head.

An angel little Serena became
Golden wings upon her back
A gentle smile upon her face
Carrying her festive Halloween sack.

Alek is a frightening werewolf
He always picks the one
He will not see upon the street
That makes it so much fun.

He collects so much candy that
Dad says, "Don't eat it all! "
He starts thinking what he will be
As soon as the season turns into fall.

Oh look, little Kayla is a butterfly
She's pink and cute as can be
It's obvious she is having fun
For her hand is filled with candy.

They tromp through colorful leaves
As down the street they go
Giggling and having tremendous fun
With a loving parent often in tow.

Enjoy these Halloween Munchkins
They are a joy to watch each year
Ask God to keep them safe as well
They are precious and so very dear!
