Halloween Party In The Garden Poem by Daren Walker

Halloween Party In The Garden

Darkness covers the garden
The sun has gone to bed
Flowers have lost their colour
While shadows hide the shed

But take a peek inside the gloom
Are those cobwebs that I see?
Miss Spider is spinning such a lot
Wrapped round every tree!

Our little friends are partying
Because it's Halloween
Mr Caterpillar's carved pumpkins
Are the finest that I've seen

Mr Cricket wears vampire teeth
Ready to give a fright
Whenever anyone walks by
He pretends he's going to bite

Who wears that scary costume
Is it Tiny Tommy Tick?
Such a hairy werewolf mask
Its fur so dark and thick!

Someone's trying to get apples
Bobbing around in a pail
All of a sudden there's a splash
And out comes Sir Snail!

Miss Moth is playing ‘trick or treat'
With many a cheery song
Miss Ant gathers up the sweets
So glad she tagged along!

Mr Woodlouse looks so fierce
White paint across his shell
He's not just a skeleton
But one that crawls as well!

Sir Worm has also joined the fun
He hides behind a tree
Waiting for his moment
To say "Boo" to Little Miss Bee!

Despite such creepy fancy dress
Everyone's having such fun
Food, drink and lots of games
With prizes to be won!
