Halloween Village Poem by Justin Gildow

Halloween Village

Arriving at the Halloween village by carriage
and horses in the evening
I can see that everyone that lives here
Be it ghost, witch, vampire, etc.
They're ready to celebrate tonight

Getting out of the carriage
And waving goodbye to the stagecoach
and horses
I'm ready to celebrate tonight as well
And up in a tower
Someone is ringing the bells
Calling out to the many individuals that
live here
Telling them to come out of their house
Telling them to come out and celebrate
Telling them to smile and share in the revelry

In the middle of the Halloween village
A bare tree stands
And many are helping decorate the tree
with many Halloween heirlooms and trinkets
Standing back
I take in the sight of the bare tree
Wonderfully decorated in front of me

A hot air balloon is hovering over the village
The hot air balloon is an image of a smiling
jack-o-lantern
Two witches are waving to us as they're descending
down
As the witches land
They leave their basket and offer handshakes and
hugs
While having some time for others wanting to have
some small talk

Pumpkins, big and small, are literally all over the place
in the Halloween village
Some sit outside by many front doors to houses
Some are packed into many wagons
Some are enjoying time sitting in the pumpkin patch
Some are carved, some are not

Apples have certainly benefitted from the past harvest
As many varieties of apples are packed into many
barrels
Apple cider is also a mainstay during this time of year
in the Halloween village
Some drink it warm
Some drink it cold

The trees might be bare during this time of the year here
But I know that they're enjoying the autumn season
Through and through
Here in the Halloween village

I greet and wave to some witches
They offer compliments back to me
They begin to fly all around on their brooms
Circling around and overhead
The sprinkle magical dust from their hands
Letting it rain down on myself and many others
who are celebrating here tonight in the Halloween
village
And loving every minute of it

We're having a magical time
Tonight in the Halloween village
