Handily Poem by Barry Van Allen

Handily

I really want to thank you!
Because, without your help,
I may have had my own thoughts,
who knows where that could go.

I somehow feel indebted to you,
because, I was out there thinking,
I may have actually had an idea,
and you made sure that didn't happen.

You saved me from myself,
I just might have used my brain again,
without regard for politics,
and all those thoughts ...
that you are convinced, I should be thinking.

I may have voted wrong! ,
but, you rescued me beforehand,
it was close, though...
because, without your help,
I never would have known.

You see ... I was raised to look at things,
and try to make some sense of them,
not to take a point of view,
just because, you said so!

I think I'm going to stay with that,
I don't much care what you have spoken,
if you think you'll lead me by the hand - - - ,
don't be surprised if your's gets broken!

Have I mentioned before...That I respect the way you say what's on your mind? ? ? You sound so much like me at times...it's weird! ! Hugs, Dee
