Happy Bonus Days Poem by Joe Holthaus

Happy Bonus Days

It's great to wake each morn,
Each day a new surprise,
The morning sun is shining
So open up your eyes.

Now that I am "sorta" old,
And my parts are quite rusty,
"Dear Lord" please give me a boost
So I can rise with safety.

Had my 39th birthday for the 44th time,
Enjoying a full time job,
Working 7 days a week 12 noon to 1 PM,
With an hour off for chow.

My lovely wife, Pat, and I will enjoy,
God's gift of bonus days in Heaven on Earth
Making living sweet in Calistoga,
With 54 candles on our Anniversary Cake.

Thanks, God, for our wonderful lives.
