Happy Grave Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Happy Grave

Rating: 5.0

My lovely kitten,
Eternity kissed,
You brought miracle joy
With your beaming brown eyes;
You delivered visions,
You let the mind drift
Into esoteric meditations
Like satellites
Into planetary explorations;
I now find God in mysterious dreams
Where door locks unbolt
By the power of psychic thoughts.

Angelic love beings
Float through the atmosphere
Like mystical feathers;
There is an invisible caress,
Felt nonetheless,
It finds me when I’m lost,
Helps me when
I’m darkness depressed.

I will fling death
Into a happy grave
And live forever!

Your last stanza is so full of hope. Wish you'd write a whole poem around that last stanza. There are some nice things in this one, Uriah, but throw out 'feather.' It doesn't belong in a poem about a kitten. Just my opinion, of course. Raynette

Uriah: As a lover of the feline species, I definitely connected with this piece. I love the metaphysical turn and by the by, I disagree with Raynette. The word feathers is definitely linked to the idea of the Angels & by extension their wings. I think she may have missed that reference. A sweet, hopeful and loving poem! (10 from me.) HDC
