Happy New Year Twenty Ten Poem by Dr John Celes

Happy New Year Twenty Ten

The year naught nine was rather rough;
Let’s hope the New Year is not tough;
Let peace prevail around the globe;
Let progress be the people’s robe!

Let recession be over soon;
Let human resources be boon;
Let wars become a distant dream;
Let smiles on faces always beam.

Let ethics rule our society;
Let no one live in anxiety;
Let terrorism see its end;
Let corruption see downward trend.

Let love of brethren connect all;
Let suspicion see its downfall;
Let children get a better deal;
Let fairness be the global seal.

Let charity to poor begin;
Let trust, truth, hard-work always win;
Let dialogues replace all arms;
Let world rejoice in singing Psalms.

Let leaders think and do things right;
Let concern grow for poor man’s plight;
Let’s keep the environs in shape;
Let’s never try the cheats to ape.

Let friendship be the frontier lines;
Let’s undo booby traps and mines;
Let’s pray to God keep our health;
Let’s earn our daily bread and wealth.

Let happiness permeate earth;
Let every unborn see its birth;
Let’s practice safe and natural sex;
Let evil minds not try to vex.

Let men of goodwill always win;
Let’s forgive others for their sin;
Let harmony be everywhere;
Let’s breathe and relish freedom’s air!

‘Happy New Year,2010 to all across the globe! ’
