Harbin Park And Rita Mae Poem by Jayson Rankin

Harbin Park And Rita Mae

I view a forest every day,
and see its beauty in every way.
Some of its sounds help me sleep,
while others make me leap.
Some of its creatures may be frightening,
but I still worry about them in the lightning.
I always feel safe when I see the deer,
and little herds of Bambis ever so near.
Its tall trees, old and new,
when you look at them, it feels like their smiling back at you.
In the day baby hawks chirp for momma in their nest,
while in the night they rest.
The soft soil covered with grass, plush as beds,
also where woodland creatures rest their heads.
In the summer, coyotes howl at the moon,
hoping to catch their supper soon.
During winter deer feast on snow and berries,
prancing gleefully, ever so merry.
Between Harbin Park and Rita Mae,
this forest is better than I can say.
