Harry Poem by Dawn Owens

Harry

One warm summer's day
I brought a little Bay
Harry was his name
Never another the same
Dad helped me break him
For this would surely make him
He kicked Dad in the leg
As straight as a peg
A wild and spirited horse
He was hard to ride of course
An upstanding and handsome boy
But to me he did bring no joy
Inbreed they say
That's why he acted that way
It broke my heart
When we had to part
For I could see
He wasn't the horse for me
