Harvey Poem by Anita Wisniewska

Harvey

Coat of silk

Colour of blood

Harvey charges

Through the mud

Following hooves

A distant thud

Dream of the desert

Love to run

King of the road

Son of a gun

Harvey knows that

He is the One.

Sleeping standing

In the sun

Peaceful now

His day’s work done

Will rest his head

On a friendly shoulder

Dream of the desert

Love to run

King of the road

Son of a gun

Harvey knows that

He is the One.

Coat of silk

Colour of fire

Step so lightly

Over the mire

Faster, faster,

Higher, higher

Spirit of wind

Woodland flier

Dream of the desert

Love to run

King of the road

Son of a gun

Harvey knows that

He is the One.
