Hatred Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hatred

Hatred

He knows me
Was crushed under feet
Elephant’s

“Take revenge…”
He tells me:
“And hate them…”
He insists.
Then wonders my resist:
“No, never…we must be human…”
“But…” he says.
He tried to remind what they did.
“They have walked…”
I start: “on my back…on my bones…”
I stop…let him talk but warn him:
“My ears are mountain…for word hate…”
He wonders when I say:
“My heart too…full of waves…soft water…”
He frowns as if: “You…”
I smile…
He asks for some water; changes mind:
”Or coffee…can you mix with whisky? ”
We both laugh and he says:
“Forgive me…”
I tell him:
“Oh shut up…”
He look and I go on:
“We, mankind, must think first, and then talk…”

He smiles: “Even if…? ”
I reply: “Even if…”
