Haunting Acquaintances Poem by Abhimanyu Singh Arha

Haunting Acquaintances

Rating: 0.5

Come, let me show you this, Yes!
the place where our minds met first
this square lake of black ripples
hewn by the moon to give eternal thirst

You stood at this end
Your moans belied
mournful shores of your eyes
I long for the voice still embedded in you
for it alone will guide

trapped tears of my soul
as I lay submerged in chains
which suck all my strength
Shout! Scream! but let it gain
a hold over the dirty liquid

Your voice hug me like a mother
and the tears oozed out
a droplet flew into your throat
You roared and flew all around
