Have I Done My Best Poem by Hans Maae Taala

Have I Done My Best

Have I Done My Best?

Upon this time I wonder
Have I done my best?
With the talents I've been given
Before I'm laid to rest

Have my doors been opened
Whenever the Saviour knocks?
Have I given my last morsel
With no thought about my lot?

Have I helped a total stranger
And those with less than me?
When oppressed have I knelt
To pray in all humility?

Do I forgive my enemies?
See I'm also filled with sin
Who am I to judge another?
For the Saviour looks within

Have I lifted those on bended knee
Or comforted those who mourn?
Do I strive to offer peace
While the world looks on with scorn?

Have I bridled all my passions?
Do I give to those in need?
Have I paid an honest tithe?
Have I planted righteous seeds?

Do I forgive those who hurt me?
When I offend do I apologize?
Have I stopped to thank the Lord
For all the blessings in my life?

Have I mended broken spirits
Or blessed a wounded soul?
With the message of his gospel
For he surely paid my toll

Do I bare my testimony
Of his gospel dear and true?
Would I give a friend my life?
As he has done for me and you

Have I set a good example?
Do I serve with an honest heart?
All these questions I must answer
Have I truly done my part?
