Have You Are You Poem by Francis Duggan

Have You Are You

Have you ever felt as some do feel that to any Nation you do not belong
That you are a person of the World with that there's not anything wrong
At least you do not feel patriotic or of your nationality brag
You will die when the reaper will claim you and not for your National flag.

Are you seen as a Godless person on a God you do not believe
So many who have God in their lives their own selves they only deceive
Some they feel superior to others conceited by their National pride
And they feel 'tis their right for to wage war since they have got God on their side.

Have you ever felt an outsider a fringe dweller in your Hometown
To everyone who sings your praises ninety nine are trying to drag you down
And though many may see you as over-sensitive and sadly lacking in self esteem
In a World of so much self promotion the humble must lose out 'twould seem.

Are you never the life of the party the one who has little to say
For every talker there should be a listener though things seldom do seem that way
And though being part of a group all talking at the one time new knowledge you never will gain
A few wise words from an insightful person with you are destined to remain

With you for many a Season and decade and serve you well in some future day
Whilst the loud talk of the noisy party from the memory is quick to fade away
And for you to seem different to others should not be a cross for to bear
As there's far too many with inflated egos in the bigger world out there.
