Have You Ever Poem by Gary Porter

Have You Ever

Have you ever sat in the dark and wondered what it's all about

Why some people whisper and others just shout

Looking at an old photo knowing time has past so fast

Could today be the day that maybe is your last

Or it could be you asking that question, where do we go after here

Could we again see and hug loved ones we used to hold dear

I remember my school days and how I wanted them to be no more

But what I would give today to go back through that big heavy door

Seeing us fight and taking to war
Surely that's not the reason what we are here for

Distraction of each other again and again
War never really helps it just adds to the pain

And love and how a powerful hold it can take
Unconditional love and love we do make

No one whats to look back and have regrets in the way

Instead have a book of your life filled with happiness and joy your shared everyday

Every minute and second is time that will not return

Every minute and second is time that we can still learn

Wouldn't it be good If the earth was just a big shelf

And everyday was the day one bettered themself.
