Have You Ever Wondered?

Have you ever wondered...
how it feels to be alone,
to wonder if you'll eat today
or where you'll have to roam?

Have you ever wondered...
how it feels to be afraid,
to know you can't cry out for help
because you can't be saved?

Have you ever wondered...
how it feels to cry at night,
to wonder if there is a God
and if He'll ever make things right?

Have you ever wondered...
how it feels to ache inside,
to know you can't find happiness
and there's nowhere left to hide?

This poem effectively conveys a feeling which so many can relate to... and for those that can't, it's certain to open some eyes. Great poem, Mary... brilliantly expressed.

So very intense and descriptive. I think everyone has had this kind of feeling at one point or another. I know I have. Thanks for putting such a touchy subject into words that do it justice. (Report) Reply

poet Christopher Marlowe

It lies not in our power to love or hate,
For will in us is overruled by fate.
When two are stripped, long ere the course begin,
We wish that one should love, the other win;
