Have You Seen The World Flourish? Poem by Ray Tong

Have You Seen The World Flourish?

Rating: 5.0

Have you seen the world flourish?
Once the rain stops,
The vivid green of the bice kingdom,
Born from emerald figures,
The variegated hue,
Of a thousand colours,
Assailed the eyes in the light,
Of the blooming flowers,
Under the glorious might of the Sun.

Have you seen the world flourish?
Under the golden rays of the Sun,
The sea, deep azure in colour,
Evergreen meadows ever so lush,
Dirt and earth felt cool under naked soles,
Let the moisture seep in,
Driving away the heat of the world,
Let tranquility set in,
Anaesthesia for the restless soul,
Morphine for the agitated mind.

Have you seen the world flourish?
The beauty of arthropods’ life,
A kingdom a thousand leagues wide,
Traversed in a million years,
The heart of the Earth,
Where paradise lay,
In the core of the floral empire,
Between men and heaven,
So glorious is its alluring beauty,
Eternal elegance resides within,
Its infinite boundaries.
