He Changed Me On That Day Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

He Changed Me On That Day

There was every reason for Despair,
A languishing state of consuming pain.
Like a parched land dried and gasping for air,
Cracked in spirit, so rejected by rain.

Such was the torment of soul day and night,
Such was the mire of a hopeless cage
That imprisoned me daily and made me lose sight
That there was a rainbow behind my human rage.

Wounds bled hidden in the depths of my soul,
Darkness was pitch black and I could not see-
There was Someone Who loved and wanted me whole
Like the last breath of a dying man I cried, 'Set me free! '

You say a 'mirage', it is just fantasy.
An illusion that some drifting minds can play.
But experience defies and so proves the reality
When He came into me, He changed me on that day!

So this my story is what I will testify
What He has done for me is all the proof I need,
Some may scoff and still many will deny
But God is real for me and He loves me indeed!

I like this poem a lot, but would ask the poet to maybe remember the tale of Jonah and the city of Ninevah.

A very nicely written Testimony All that matters is what you think and know inside. Who care about other's opinions!
