He Is Gone Poem by Eunice Herlo

He Is Gone

Rating: 5.0

The moment he went away
My head and heart felt lost
Something felt wrong that day
Losing my brother was a great cost

It has been six years long
I can remember so clear that day
It was not a happy song
But a thought that there is no way

Tears stung my eyes at the news
Maybe there was a hope
He was a great treasure to lose
But the truth was too great to cope

As I said my good-bye
In my heart a peaceful feeling began
My mind stopped asking 'why? '
Because I would one day see him again

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I dedicate this poem to my brother Tim. I lost my brother in a car accident when he was just 18 years old. I was 12 years old and I experienced something very painful and it was hard to cope with the sadness and the thought that he was gone.I miss him every day but only God helped me through it all and I'm glad to have Him in my life and I'm thankful he gave me a loving family! I will one day meet up with my brother in heaven!
