I held a purple daisy
My tears fell down like rain
I marveled at its beauty
I shared with it my pain

I pulled out the last petal
And cried even more
The answer isn't final
Just superstitious lore

I held a purple daisy
And wiped away my tear
I know I must sound crazy
But it took away my fear
