He Loves Me Poem by Fiona Burgess

He Loves Me

Rating: 2.5

He loves me!
She danced through the day
To a divine rhythm of love
Who would have thought?
For all her faults
And all her short-comings
For all the darkness in her heart
He loves me!
She danced through the night
To the beat of a million hearts
Who would have imagined?
For all her failures
And all her sins and crimes
For all the brokeness of her soul
He loves me!
She danced upon the air of life
To the lament of fallen angels
Who could have dreamed such a dream?
For all her scars
And all her walls
For all the demons that surround her
He loves me!

A shadow of doubt creeps into her mind
A whisper of fear slides into her heart
The music hits a false note
Her feet falter in their movement
What if it's nothing more than a cruel twist of fate?
That the love will vanish like teardrops in desert sand.
She pushes that all aside with violent force
And steps out into the sun,
He loves ME!
